VKRP in VAConnects for Kids

It’s the start of the school year and VKRP is now part of VAConnects for Kids (VAConnects). VAConnects is an integrated data system that brings together three state data collection initiatives: LinkB5, the Virginia Language & Literacy Screening System (VALLSS), and the Virginia Kindergarten Readiness Program (VKRP).

We’ll be sharing more details and showcasing various features of the new system in the future, but here’s a quick preview of what you need to know, the goals of VAConnects, and why this new system is worth getting excited about!

What is VAConnects?

VAConnects is a new integrated data system that helps us collect and use data more effectively to support programs, educators, and children.

Why the Change?

This upgrade is more than a new look—it’s about a more streamlined user interface, more efficient classroom and student management, and an even more secure system. Here are the top three reasons we’re excited to introduce VAConnects:

A Streamlined User Experience Across All Three Initiatives: VAConnects brings LinkB5, VALLSS, and VKRP together into one cohesive system. That means you’ll experience a consistent interface, intuitive navigation, and shared features. We’ve listened to feedback from the field and designed VAConnects with your needs in mind—including improvements to mobile access and more user-friendly tools.
One Login, One Platform: No more juggling usernames, passwords, or separate sites. With VAConnects, you’ll have a single login for all three initiatives. If you support more than one program, this will save time and reduce the need to enter the same information in multiple places.
Enhanced Security: VAConnects offers even stronger data protection. VAConnects ensures a reliable and secure experience as we continue building a system that supports both the present and future needs of divisions, schools, programs, and educators across the state.
